Jo can help you explore your inner child wounding and Orphaned parts. Trauma is not just intense single events. Jo can hold safe space for you to somatically experience and process illness and trauma ready for release. Most of us hold developmental, generational and collective trauma within our memories, beliefs and bodies.
There are no bad parts of any of us. Trauma is an adaption that we used to survive and we can increase awareness to release them in order to THRIVE.
When we tune into loving kindness, gratitude, acceptance and trust we realise we need to fix, change and improve much less than our mind wants us to think.
Mā, tika and pono are vital to honor our creator. Through purity of thoughts and actions we open up to receive IO ( the god of unity) blessings. We then live a life of ease and abundance. Jo's rongoā kaiako include Joanne Hararaia-Olson.
With partnership we can dissolve struggle and rest and digest in relaxation mode more so we can THRIVE.
Jo aims to help you remember the joyful, wild and free side of your Self.

MENOPAUSE IS WHEN YOU HAVEN"T HAD A PERIOD FOR 12 MONTHS
You then have to track back to the date of that last period and this is your Menopause moment - everything that happens after this date is then called Post-Menopause
The last period occurs at different ages for different women - the average age in New Zealand is 51, but the range is anywhere from age 45 to 55.
If menopause happens between the ages 40 to 45, this is called Early Menopause.
If it happens before the age of 40, this is called Premature Menopause or Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (or POI)
Our periods usually don't just stop suddenly.
Instead they become irregular and often more spaced out before they finally fully stop. Once they have stopped for 12 consequetive months, then we can say you have been through the menopause.
If you are over 45 and your periods stop and you have menopausal symptoms, you do NOT need a hormone blood test.
Blood tests for hormone levels are useful for women who go through early menopause - to confirm menopause has actually happened and to rule out other things that can stop periods - such as Thyroid issues or Polycystic Ovary disease.
They can also be useful to confirm when menopause happens in a woman whose periods had already stopped because of certain forms of contraception including the Mirena coil.
Perimenopause is the time when our hormone levels begin to change and fluctuate because we are starting the transition towards menopause (the ending of our periods)
The symptoms can be subtle at first and look a lot like other conditions. Which is part of what makes it under-recognised.
Your hormone blood tests are usually normal in the perimenopause
The hormones don't just stop one day - they fluctuate. There can be sudden surges, followed by sudden drops and the nice monthly rhythm starts to get lost.
All these hormonal ups and downs can cause havoc. Mentally and physically.
The early symptoms can include any of the following:
This means the molecules are very similar to our own hormones.
Oestrodiol can be prescribed as tablets or transdermal patches. Progesterone can be prescribed as Uterogestan.
Testosterone can be prescribed as Androfeme cream, but is not currently funded in New Zealand and can cost about $120 for 3 months.
Unfortunately a large study of HRT by the Women's Health Initiative was stopped 20 years ago and the results can be spun different ways depending on which camp you sit in. HRT is definately good for your bones. HRT is likely to reduce your risk of Alzheimer's disease, but adopting a Mediterranean diet may also give the same effects. HRT is definately effective for hot flushes and night sweats and likely helps with joint aches. HRT is often less effective for fatigue, mood issues and libido. HRT can help some people a lot and give others severe side effects.
The hormone changes around menopause create stress in the body so strategies that help relax our autonomic nervous system are also effective such as meditation, exercise such as yoga, tai chi and qijong. Improving our nutrition is also important.
